Prior to every demolition project, an asbestos inspection by a licensed asbestos inspector is required.
Once results are obtained the asbestos must be removed. At that time, notifications to the State DES and Federal EPA are required to be made at least 10 days prior to the abatement and subsequent demolition.
Once the abatement is complete, application by the owner can be made to the town for the actual demolition permit.
